I’m sure you read my horrifying blog entry about lead and cadmium in chocolate. If you didn’t, you probably should. If you don’t want to, I’ll just give you a quick summary: lead has been found in an alarming amount of store-bought chocolate. Fortunately, you can find (practically) lead free chocolate with just a little bit of effort.
Yes, you read that right. The world’s most expensive chocolate costs $260 for one bar. I’m not sure if it qualifies as one of the world’s most expensive chocolate gifts, but it’s up there.
The chocolate is by a company called To’ak, a small business located in Ecuador. While our jaws may drop at the price tag, the owners admit that the chocolate isn’t for everyone. It’s nice that they know that, but regular people are rolling their eyes wondering why someone would even consider buying something so frivolous.
